Who Are The Writers?
Cody
Cody is a 19 year old male that lives in America and is currently studying Korean, Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin), and Spanish. His main focus is Korean but he is also interested in Japanese and thinks Chinese sounds cool. Spanish is there because it is required for his college and he kind of likes it (a little bit). In his spare time, he likes to listen to music, watch movies, play video games, practice his languages (duh~), and Jog.

Theresa
Theresa is a 20 year old female who lives in Singapore and is currently taking Korean as a third language, her first being English and second being Mandarin. She took Korean in 2005 and gradually fell in love with the language. Some of her favourite pasttimes would be reading novels, shopping and more shopping.
Hyunwoo(현우)
Hyunwoo is a 27 year old male who lives in Korea and speaks Korean as his mother language. He's currently studying English, French, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Indonesian, German, and Italian. He enjoys breakdancing in his free time (and always tries to make more and more free time for this!) and loves meeting new people and communicating in the languages he's studying.

Ed is a self-described eccentric graduate student of linguistics from California. He currently focuses on Balinese and Indonesian, but has also studied the following: French, Japanese, Tagalog, Korean, and Abou Dida (in his field methods class). He is also an accomplished performer of Balinese and Central Javanese gamelan music and dance. On top of that, he's supposedly a really good amateur chef...

Nicholas is 20 year old Filipino male living in the Gold Coast, Australia. He has called himself "The Language Freak," and most of his close friends probably agree that this name is appropriate. Aside from his native languages English and Tagalog, he can speak pretty good Mandarin and Japanese, and can survive with some Korean and Cantonese. He hopes to learn some Spanish too! The only thing Nick enjoys more than language learning is eating, and karaoke!

I didn't find any words that even had a close resemblance to standard Tagalog vocabulary. Was there supposed to be any?

In the "alus" video, here are the possible cognates:
alit ~ (ma)liit 'small'
adan ~ (pa)ngalan 'name'
In the "biasa" video:
ningehang
root: dingeh ~ (Ind) dengar ~ (Tag) dinig
tetelu
root: telu ~ tatlo (which historically comes from *ta-talo via partial reduplication).
I didn't mean for it to be a trick question - sorry if it came across that way ^^
Oh! I was about to site those words, but they just seemed a little too different from standard Tagalog, I should have followed my instinct... besides, I didn't understand any of the Balinese, so I really couldn't decide on the possible cognates (eg. i didn't know 'alit' meant small [though I was pretty sure it was].
